Antioxidant 6PPD (4020)

6PPD (N-(1,3-dimethylbutyl)-N′-phenyl-p-phenylenediamine, also coded 4020) is a staining p-phenylenediamine antidegradant. It is highly effective against ozone cracking and flex fatigue in diene rubbers and is standard in tire sidewalls and other dynamic black compounds.

Industry Applications

Tires, belts, hoses, and other dynamic NR/SBR/BR articles. It discolors light-colored goods; non-staining antioxidants such as TMQ are used where appearance or heat aging is the main need.
