Coumarone-Indene Resin
Coumarone-indene resin is a thermoplastic aromatic resin polymerized from streams rich in coumarone (benzofuran) and indene. Traditional grades come from coal-tar fractions; some commercial grades use petroleum-derived indene cuts. It is an amber to dark aromatic tackifier and modifier, distinct from the lighter petroleum C5 and C9 resins.

Rubber compounding, adhesives, paints and varnishes, printing inks, and flooring compounds.
