Emulsion Styrene-Butadiene Rubber (SBR)

Emulsion SBR is the workhorse styrene-butadiene rubber from cold emulsion copolymerization of styrene and butadiene. Non-staining, environmentally improved 1500-series types (such as 1502E) are widely used as a general-purpose substitute or complement to natural rubber.

Industry Applications

Tire carcass and treads, conveyor belts, footwear, molded and extruded mechanical goods, and general rubber compounding. Solution SBR (SSBR) is listed separately for functionalized, high-performance tire treads.
