Oil-Extended Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene (SBS OE)

Oil-extended SBS is a styrenic block copolymer supplied with a controlled naphthenic or paraffinic oil fill. The oil lowers hardness and melt viscosity, improves low-temperature flexibility, and makes high-molecular-weight SBS easier to process on footwear and compounding lines.

Industry Applications

TPR/TPE shoe soles and footwear components, injection-molded and extruded soft goods, cost-effective elastomeric compounds, and plastic modification where extra softness and flow are needed. Dry (non-oil-extended) SBS is listed separately for asphalt, adhesives, and higher-cohesion uses.
