General Purpose Polystyrene (GPPS)
GPPS (general purpose polystyrene, also called crystal polystyrene) is an amorphous styrenic thermoplastic made by polymerizing styrene. It is rigid, glossy, and transparent, with good electrical insulation and easy melt processing, and it is more brittle than rubber-modified polystyrene. Impact-modified HIPS and expandable EPS are listed separately.
Industry Applications
Clear packaging, disposable cups and cutlery, CD and jewel cases, laboratory and medical ware, lighting covers, toys, and blends with HIPS or SBC where clarity and stiffness are needed. Melt flow is selected at inquiry.
