n-Butanol (NBA)

n-Butanol is the linear C4 alcohol used as a solvent and as a feedstock for n-butyl acetate and plasticizers. It evaporates more slowly than C2–C3 alcohols and helps flow and gloss in baking finishes.

Industry Applications

Coatings, butyl acetate production, plasticizers, resins, and industrial solvent blends. Isobutanol is the branched isomer listed separately.
