Rosin Ester

Rosin esters are tackifying resins made by esterifying gum, wood, or tall-oil rosin with polyols (often glycerol or pentaerythritol). They offer a useful polarity for adhesion to many substrates, good compatibility with SIS/SBS/EVA, and a balance of tack, peel, and color depending on hydrogenation and stabilization.

Industry Applications

Hot-melt adhesives, solvent-based and water-based PSA, packaging adhesives, and rubber compounding. Low-odor, light-color grades are typical for packaging and hygiene HMA.
