Isobutanol (IBA)

Isobutanol (2-methyl-1-propanol) is a C4 alcohol solvent and chemical intermediate, slower evaporating than ethanol or IPA, used to adjust flow, blush resistance, and viscosity in coatings.

Industry Applications

Coatings and inks, plasticizer and ester synthesis (e.g. isobutyl acetate), and industrial solvent blends. n-Butanol is the linear isomer listed separately.
