Solution Styrene-Butadiene Rubber (SSBR)

SSBR is styrene-butadiene rubber made by anionic solution polymerization. Compared with emulsion SBR it offers tighter control of styrene content, vinyl (1,2) structure, molecular weight, and optional chain-end functionalization—properties that matter for silica-filled, low-rolling-resistance treads.

Industry Applications

Passenger-car tire treads, high-performance rubber compounds, and other recipes that need a designed balance of grip, wear, and hysteresis. Emulsion SBR covers general-purpose uses.
