Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene (ABS)

ABS is a thermoplastic terpolymer of acrylonitrile, butadiene, and styrene. The SAN matrix gives rigidity, gloss, and chemical resistance; the butadiene rubber phase supplies impact strength. It molds easily, holds dimensions well, and can be electroplated or painted.

Automotive interior and exterior parts, appliance housings, consumer electronics, office equipment, toys, luggage, and industrial moldings. Flow, impact, and heat-deflection grades are chosen at inquiry.
