Reinforcing Phenolic Resin
Reinforcing phenolic resins are phenol-formaldehyde novolacs used in rubber with a methylene donor. On vulcanization they form a rigid resin network in the compound, raising hardness, modulus, tear strength, and abrasion resistance.
Industry Applications
Tire bead, apex, and undertread compounds, conveyor belts, shoe soles, and other NR, SBR, and BR goods that need added hardness and reinforcement.
