Polyethylene Furanoate (PEF)
PEF is the polyester of FDCA and ethylene glycol. It is a bio-based alternative to PET with typically higher barrier to oxygen, carbon dioxide, and water vapor, plus a higher glass-transition temperature, which is of interest for bottles and films.

Beverage bottles, barrier films and packaging, fibers, and specialty polyester applications where renewable content and barrier performance are valued.
