Styrene-Ethylene-Butylene-Styrene Block Copolymer (SEBS)

SEBS is the hydrogenated form of SBS. Saturating the butadiene mid-block to an ethylene-butylene rubber block keeps melt processability while giving far better heat, UV, ozone, and oxidative stability than unhydrogenated SBS. It is typically a linear, clear styrenic block copolymer used as a TPE base polymer and as a modifier for polyolefins and other plastics.

Industry Applications

TPE/TPV compounding, plastic modification (PP/PE toughness and flexibility), footwear and sports goods, automotive soft-touch and sealing parts, adhesives and sealants, and outdoor or weatherable compounds where SBS aging is a limit.
