Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC)
PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is a commodity thermoplastic made by polymerizing vinyl chloride. Rigid, unplasticized PVC is stiff, chemically resistant, and weatherable. Flexible compounds add plasticizer to lower hardness and raise elongation. The resin is stabilized and processed by extrusion, injection molding, and calendaring.
